Abstract

The rapid development of digital technologies has transformed the Indian banking sector from a predominantly branch-based model to a technology-driven service environment. Internet banking, mobile banking, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), digital wallets, QR-code payments, and banking applications have substantially increased the speed, convenience, and accessibility of financial services. However, the adoption of digital banking does not automatically ensure customer satisfaction. Customers increasingly evaluate digital banking services in terms of convenience, ease of use, security, reliability, transaction speed, privacy, and customer support. This paper examines the relationship between digital banking adoption and customer satisfaction in Indian banks. The study is based on a review of empirical literature and secondary evidence relating to digital banking in India. Existing studies indicate that perceived usefulness, ease of use, convenience, security, trust, service quality, and transaction efficiency are important determinants of customer satisfaction. The study concludes that Indian banks need to adopt a customer-centric digital strategy that combines technological innovation with security, reliability, accessibility, and effective grievance redressal.
